Virtually anybody who as a deep affection for Christmas knows the value of working with vintage Christmas decorations if you want to ensure a joyous holiday for the whole family. Really, you can’t go wrong when to bring some old-fashioned values to to your celebration. Vintage just adds something special.

The truth is, a lot of people have discovered that the best way to create beautiful memories today is to gaze backwards in time to what worked in the past.

For example, Let’s say that you want to take some of the Christmas magic that you remember as a child and inject it into the holiday that you now celebrate with your own kids. Stop for a moment and ask yourself what worked in those days. Was there some special tradition about how to spend Christmas Eve? Did you leave a letter for Santa Claus? Did you try to stay up late so you could hear the pitter patter of reindeer on the roof?

And what about the Christmas tree? Was there, perhaps, an ornament that was especially your own? A bright ball, say, tha nobody else ever hung  because they knew how much it meant to you?

If the answer to that question is yes, then you should immediately get hold of that ornament! Beg your parents to give it to you! And if you can’t do that, then start figuring out if there is a way to purchase it online or in an antique store in your area.

In other words, make that antique ornament part of your contemporary celebration of Christmas.

Start a new tradition in your family – give every child the right to choose a special Christmas tree ornament. Tell them that someday it will be their very own, something they can treasure in the future as a way of making their holiday unique and full of wonderful memories.
