A shag rug can be a nostalgic piece for decoration or a luxurious addition to your home décor.  No matter how you want to use it, you will get a comfortable rug under your feet.  With so many colors and styles from which to choose, you can always find something to fit your existing décor or change the look altogether.

Shag area rugs are relatively inexpensive compared to other types of rugs.  You can find many rugs for well under $100.  The cost of the rug depends on its size and brand more than any other factors.  For instance, Chandra’s Strata collection features shag rugs.  These hand-woven creations are made of art silk and cost a little more than $80.  They come in a variety of colors such as ivory and white.

Momeni has a retro collection of shaggy rugs in its Comfort Shag collection for those of you who want to add a little ‘70s panache to your style.  This hand-tufted rug is made of 100% mod-acrylic fibers and comes in fun, vivid colors such as aqua beige, blue, brown, canary, cinnabar, ebony, fig, lilac, lime green, mint green, oatmeal, olive, peacock, pink, red, steel and yellow.  It is available in a variety of sizes and come in rectangular or circular shapes.  This playful rug costs nearly $60.

Your kids can also enjoy a shag rug with designs from Coral Kids by The Rug Market.  This hand-made rug is constructed of synthetic materials and comes in a variety of sizes.  It is designed to be easily maintained.  Although dry cleaning is not necessarily, it is recommended that the Coral Kids rug be professionally cleaned.  It can also be cleaned by brushing or sweeping off with a broom.  This rug comes in colors such as sage green and costs more than $150.
